We are a small family owned business that has always been focused on doing things the right way, the natural way. Prairie Doctor Brand is based out of Victoria, BC and has been making herbal tinctures since 1994. We started out as a single product company making echinacea tinctures from herbs that were grown on our company farms. Over the years, our farms have been sold and we have started to work with a group of incredible farmers and distributors to offer a much broader line of single and compound tinctures. Today, our company is still based out of a warehouse in Victoria, BC and it consists of four people: Shawn, Celeste, Bill & Remy.

Prairie Doctor Brand has always believed in local and organic but it is no longer simply something that we do, it is who we are. We work incredibly hard to source the best possible herbs from farms and suppliers that are as close to us as possible. Currently, over 65% of our herbs (by weight) come from Canada or the USA and over 50% are from within a 1500km radius. We are extremely proud to say that we have great relationships with all our suppliers and farmers and continue to buy direct from the farms as much as we possibly can. We at Prairie Doctor Brand greatly value the Earth and sustainability, which is why we have chosen to source our materials from closer to home despite the most common sources being China, India, and Eastern Europe. That being said, there are some herbs that simply don’t grow well around here so when we have to get herbs from outside Canada and the US, we make sure we are buying from reputable suppliers that pay attention to proper farming, fair trade and sustainability. We’re not perfect, but we are always striving to do better!
